2024 Fenestration Salary Survey
This Salary Survey provides valuable insights into compensation trends, serving as an essential tool for businesses to stay competitive by offering up-to-date salary benchmarks for key leadership roles, including Sales Directors, Managing Directors, HR Directors, and General Managers.
Throughout 2024, Head of Sector - Building Products & Construction, Mark Goldsmith, and our team have successfully worked with several manufacturers within the Fenestration industry in the UK.
In providing you with a broad selection of functions headhunted, the below is the intelligence gathered throughout the process of approaching people for specific roles. Figures only include basic salaries:
Sales Director
This established fabricator wanted me to approach both existing Sales Directors from SME manufacturers, and National Sales Managers from larger corporate fabricators. This was a regionalised search, taking in the Midlands and Northern Homes Counties. More context in this case study.
Managing Director
Part of a larger group who had recently acquired this individual manufacturer of ancillary products sold into fabricators and allied Building Product manufacturers. The group required an Operations Director from a larger manufacturer within allied Building Products – fast moving, continual line – who was ready to take the step up. This site houses c.40 staff. Case study can be viewed here.
Human Resource Director
Having secured the UK’s Managing Director, Commercial Director, and Marketing Director, this international System House wished to bring in their first HR Director onto the UK board. The remit was simple: gain interest from current board level human resource leaders, who operate within a heavily production-oriented environment. Therefore, this took in broader industries than purely Building Materials. The UK operation turns over c.£100m.
General Manager
Having acquired this manufacturer / installer within fenestration two years previously, the group board required an allrounder to manage this remote workforce of c.50 heads. They would take ultimate responsibility for commercial / contract management of social housing clients, and leadership of a production team (I recruited an Operations Director at group level six months previously, who took technical control). Commercial Directors and service-led Operations Directors, with exposure to managing local authority contracts were my primary target.
