Chris Mayers

Chris joined Collingwood in June 2024 as an Executive Search Delivery Consultant, helping to find talent for our clients particularly within the Technology sector.

I have a 1^st class degree in Sport Business Management from Sheffield Hallam University. This taught me that I wanted a sales-focused career and recruitment could provide it! 

Today, I have close to 8 years of experience in recruitment, mostly within the Technology sector with a few other areas working with Sales professionals as well. My recruitment career started out with me working in a fast-paced contingent model but I have since pivoted to executive search where I have partnered with several leading businesses, globally.

Like most people, I “fell into recruitment” and it has been something that I have always been thankful for.

What do you love most about your job? 

The thing I have always enjoyed most is speaking to different people from all different walks of life. The variety of meaningful work you can do with truly interesting people has always kept me engaged and keen to continue learning. I love forging long-last relationships with everyone that I engage with.

Outside of Work 

My main passion is football! I no longer have the knees to play but I still follow Portsmouth FC closely and try to get to games as often as I can.

I have a Hungarian Vizsla that keeps me on my toes and gets me out and about all over the Cheshire countryside. This has created a new hobby of visiting as many old-school country pubs as we can.
