Clinical Director - Leading Healthcare Group


As one of the UK’s leading health charities and the third largest portfolio of independent hospitals, our client provides services that include elective surgery, rehabilitation and diagnostic tests.


Our client had a strategic focus to become the leading healthcare brand, providing services from health assessments and maintenance through to prevention, treatment and health rehabilitation. Driven by a focus on expertise and innovation, their vision was backed by continued investment in people and services. Collingwood’s challenge was to assist the business in finding individuals who would champion this strategy at senior management level.


Two Clinical Directors were required to strategically develop two of our client’s UK hospitals in line with the company’s values and vision, underpinned by high standards of care and governance. Candidates required exceptional people and clinical leadership. Working as part of the senior leadership team, the Clinical Directors would also be the hospital lead for quality, spearheading the development and implementation of strategies to further improve the patient experience.


Having created in-depth documentation around company performance, job & candidate profile, our search focused on a select audience who possessed the required skills, attributes and experience. After discreet and confidential approach, nine individuals were evaluated through thorough competency based interviews.


Five individuals were shortlisted to our client and from this, the two candidates who were chosen for a second stage assessment with the Group Clinical Director and Head of Human Resources were both offered. Collingwood then managed all remaining elements of the process through to on-boarding.
